Womankind: New Zealand Women Making a Difference

Penguin Random House New Zealand, 2019

“We all want a better world. A cleaner, greener, kinder world. But how? In a time of great global uncertainty it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. How can any one of us stand up against such massive realities as climate change, the loneliness epidemic, inequality, environmental collapse, the loss of an entire language? Many people feel there’s nothing they can do to make a difference.

“The 53 women in Woman Kind show us the truth – that we all have the power, every one of us, to do good. To make change. To be kind. Woman Kind.”

Womankind showcases 53 amazing New Zealand women, all of whom are driven by their strong values and their aroha. Together, they reflect the astonishing diversity of Aotearoa today. It was a joy to meet all these women and a privilege to tell their stories. I am so thrilled at what Simon has captured with his stunning photographs, and at the very high production values Penguin Random brought to the project. It’s a lovely thing.
